TIBET/CHINA (Drukpa?/Kagyu) Lama’s Ceremonial Hat

In Tibetan Buddhism, the two main sects are the Red Hat and Yellow Hat orders, each named after the color of the monk’s hats. Within those two sects are four primary schools or lineages; Gelug, Nyingma, Kagyu and Sakya. Gelug is also known as the Yellow Hat School. The other three, including Kagyu, are part of the Red Hat School.
