Cameroon Bamileke tribe, Prestige hat (Ashetu)

In Cameroon, the ashetu (prestige caps) are worn by high-ranking Bamileke men. The hats were inspired by elaborate hair styles worn throughout the Grasslands region. Rather than typical fabric knobs, this hat is decorated with porcupine quills.
